This wiki is intended to be a resource used together with the ICT-Web.eu website. Here registered users can enter new information, and anyone can read and use what is here.
ICT stands for Information and Communications Technology and is, to put it simply, the use of modern technological and Internet based systems and tools as a toolset for adaptive teaching practices such as blended learning methods such as flipped classroom.
UNESCO has stated that
“Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can contribute to universal access to education, equity
in education, the delivery of quality learning and teaching, teachers’ professional development and more > efficient education management, governance and administration”1).
By harnessing the modern tools such as learning management systems or electronic flashcards one can make it easier for more students to achieve their full potential, and for educators to improve their workload.
There are as many paths to using ICT as there are instructors, but generally it is good to go gradually into any new methodology. Start by adding ICT based techniques and tools, and use what works for you and your students.
This wiki grew out of my experience with creating and using wikis as a teaching aid, and naturally having used both https://en.wikipedia.org/ and other more specialized wikis. I hope that this site, as all other well functioning wikis, will grow as a collaborative project. So..
The whole site grew out of being frustrated with the low rate of ICT use (and sometimes quality) in schools, and the lack of clear and usefull information available to educators.
